It points you at better odds; the pin, the board and the moment are still yours to choose.
Where do the recommendations come from?
From signals that are actually about you: which weekdays and hours your own pins have travelled in, your workspace timezone, and — when Pinterest is connected — when your saves and impressions tend to peak. With little history yet, it falls back to sensible general Pinterest patterns and gets sharper as you publish.
Do I still choose the slot?
Always. The highlights are suggestions, never a lock. You can accept the next recommended slot, pick any other window on the calendar, or ignore the marks entirely and schedule wherever you like.
How does the timezone work?
You set your workspace timezone once and every slot, label and peak is shown in that local time — so an "8:00 PM" recommendation means 8 PM where you are. Change the timezone and the whole calendar re-labels to match.
